HISTORY Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department started its service in 1995 with 2 faculty members and 1 specialist. The first settlement was the Sumerbank building in Isparta. In 1997, the minor operating room was opened. Moved to SDU East campus in 2001, started to serve on the ground floor of the Faculty of Medicine. In 2011, he moved to the Faculty of Dentistry on the SDU East campus, where he currently serves. In 2011, its name was changed to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with the decision of YOK. In 2013, an inpatient service and a general operating room were opened within the Faculty of Dentistry. Our clinic has trained a lot of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons so far.
LOCATION and CAPACITY Our department has 1 clinic, local operating room, laser application room, implant application room, sedation unit, general operating room and inpatient service with a capacity of 10 beds.
RESEARCH ASSISTANT TRAINING PROCESS The training period for research assistants is 4 years. During this training period, the departments of Emergency Medicine (2 months), Anesthesiology and Reanimation (2 months), Ear Nose and Throat (3 months), Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (3 months) and Orthodontics (1 month) are rotated. Articles and seminar hours are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays every week.
DEPARTMENT OF STUDY AREAS Tooth extraction, abscess treatment, ımpacted tooth operation, apical resection, biopsy, vestibuloplasty, sinus lift, alveolar correction, epulis removal, preprosthetic surgical procedures such as nerve reposition, cyst operation, oral - maxillofacial and dental implant applications, oral and maxillofacial region surgery of hard and soft tissue tumors, sinus plastic, hard and soft tissue grafting and reconstruction procedures, conservative and surgical treatments of jaw fractures, cleft lip-palate surgery, alveolar and maxillofacial distraction osteogenesis, orthognathic surgery, conservative and surgical treatments of temoromandibular joint disorders, oral diagnosis and treatment of diseases and oral lesions, botox applications.
